The Colton Foundation has announced a $15 million, three-year commitment to the Colton Consortium for Autoimmunity, supporting collaborative autoimmune disease research led by University of Pennsylvania with partners Yale University, New York University, and Tel Aviv University. The funding will bolster faculty recruitment, expand cross-institutional research, and strengthen leadership and scientific infrastructure. The consortium aims to accelerate advances in autoimmune disease diagnosis, treatment, and prevention by coordinating expertise across institutions. The commitment builds on roughly $120 million in prior philanthropic support and a research network that has produced more than 40 pilot projects and 500 publications.
