Mamba and Mambacita Foundation awards $2M to build Kobe and Gianna Bryant Field at John Muir High

Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation, founded by Vanessa Bryant, the widow of NBA legend Kobe Bryant, has announced a $2 million donation to Pasadena (California) Unified School District’s John Muir High School to build a new synthetic turf softball field to be renamed the Kobe and Gianna Bryant Field. The award funds the replacement of a deteriorated, unsafe field and expands youth access to softball through school and community programs. The project aims to improve safety, support athletic development, and strengthen local youth sports infrastructure. Construction is expected to be completed in August 2026.
