$1.82M Texas county grant restarts OLLU historic auditorium renovation after federal funding cuts

Bexar County, Texas has awarded $1.82 million to  San Antonio’s Our Lady of the Lake University to advance renovations to the auditorium below the school’s historic Sacred Heart Conventual Chapel. The public funding bolsters the $3 million project to modernize the venue while preserving its historic character. The project, delayed by canceled federal funding, is now slated for completion in 2027. The renovated space will host workforce training, small business development, community services, and regional events, aiming to expand access, drive economic activity, and strengthen community engagement across the region.
