Mitsubishi Electric America Foundation commits $2.5M to expand disability workforce access nationwide

The Mitsubishi Electric America Foundation has announced a two-year, $2.5 million grant commitment to 20 nonprofit organizations nationwide, including Ability Central (San Jose, California), Easterseals Redwood (Fort Mitchell, Kentucky), and the University of Montana/MonTECH (Missoula), to expand career pathways in technology and the trades for youth with disabilities. The funding supports accessible training, assistive technology, and employer readiness programs designed to boost employment outcomes. The funding will help scale inclusive workforce systems, equipping young people with skills, credentials, and support to access high-demand careers and reduce systemic barriers.
