Florida’s Community Foundation of Sarasota County’s one-day Giving Challenge has raised $16.7 million in unrestricted support for 751 nonprofits. The funding will strengthen local services across health care, housing, education, arts, and the environment. Recipients include Mote Marine Laboratory, All Faiths Food Bank, and YMCA of Southwest Florida. The campaign mobilized nearly 51,000 donors contributing nearly 88,000 gifts with the Patterson Foundation providing $6.5 million in matching awards to amplify donor impact. Since 2012, the annual one-day event has generated $110 million in community support with funds leveraged to address urgent operational needs, expand services, and sustain community programs at scale.
