Hennick Foundation awards $36M to Toronto hospital to advance patient care, innovation, research

The Hennick Family Foundation has announced a C$50M ($36M) gift to Humber River Health in Toronto to advance patient care, innovation, research, and education. The gift—one of Canada’s largest to a community hospital—will accelerate investment in digital infrastructure, robotics, and clinical programs at what is described as North America’s first fully digital hospital, serving over 850,000 area residents. The award aims to scale technology-driven care models, reduce wait times, and improve outcomes across one of Ontario’s fastest-growing regions.
