Pittsburgh’s PNC backs play-based early education and skills programs with $6.2M to Sesame Workshop

Pittsburgh’s PNC Financial Services Group is expanding its PNC Grow Up Great efforts with new initiatives focused on outdoor learning and classroom innovation. A $6.2 million grant to Sesame Workshop will fund play-based resources to boost early science, math, and literacy skills. PNC also partnered with DonorsChoose to fund nearly 1,000 classroom projects and support creative teaching ideas. The initiative emphasizes hands-on learning, especially in underserved communities, while expanding employee volunteer incentives to further support early childhood education and enrich learning experiences for young children.
