FHLB Des Moines deploys $12.9M to boost housing across Alaska, South Dakota, and U.S. Pacific

The Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines has announced a $12.9 million matching grant commitment to 74 member financial institutions across Alaska, South Dakota, and U.S. Pacific territories to support affordable housing and community development. The FHLB Member Impact Fund will match $2.50 for every $1 contributed by its members, distributing funds to more than 350 nonprofits and government organizations. Since its 2023 launch, the program has delivered over $83 million in grants and leveraged $113 million in total support, with investments spanning housing and economic development across targeted rural and U.S. Pacific communities–and every eligible application funded.
