In 2024, the Ford Foundation awarded $2.6M in employee matching gifts mostly to New York-based nonprofits

Headquartered in  New York City, the Ford Foundation distributed $2.6M in matching grants in 2024 through a 3:1 employee giving program, supporting roughly 400 nonprofits alongside its broader $840M in programmatic grantmaking. The matching grants reflect staff-driven priorities, with a strong focus on New York-based cultural, educational, and advocacy organizations. The program awarded 848 grants–matching gifts of up to $30,000–with major recipients including Friends of the High Line ($105,000), George Jackson Academy ($90,000), and Metropolitan Museum of Art ($75,000). In addition, donor-advised funds (DAFs) at Fidelity Investments Charitable Gift Fund also received $330,466.
