Backed by Simons Foundation $13M, SUNY names 16 inaugural research faculty fellows

The State University of New York has announced the inaugural Simons Empire Faculty Fellows, funded by the Simons Foundation to support 16 tenure-track faculty positions across four University Centers in Albany, Binghamton, Buffalo and Stony Brook, New York. Each fellowship is supported up to $825,000 over three years to cover faculty salary, fringe benefits, and research start-up costs. The program strengthens research in neuroscience, mathematics, physics and other basic sciences, supporting work in quantum technology, AI, and neuroscience while helping recruit and retain exceptional researchers and expand SUNY’s research impact.
