Michigan receives combined $25M for AmeriCorps community programming statewide

The State of Michigan has announced a $25 million AmeriCorps investment, combining $14.8 million in federal funding with $10.2 million in matching contributions, to support nearly 950 service members across the state. The funding will support 22 program subgrants and three planning grants at 20 organizations, addressing education, health, public safety, environmental stewardship and economic opportunity. During the previous program year, AmeriCorps members served 61,100 young people, provided health services to more than 5,000 people and helped nearly 1,100 individuals with financial and job-readiness support. An additional $4.6 million in education awards will support service members.
