The University of New Hampshire has announced an $8 million grant from the National Science Foundation to lead EMBEDDEd-NH, a statewide research initiative studying ticks, tick-borne diseases, and environmental factors. The grant supports collaboration with Keene State College, Plymouth State University, state agencies, and industry partners. Researchers will investigate three key tick species using genomics, ecological modeling, machine learning, and environmental monitoring to strengthen disease surveillance, inform public health and wildlife management, and expand undergraduate research opportunities and workforce development in genomics, data science, and public health.
