IU’s Eskenazi Museum of Art receives $5M from Lilly to expand public engagement and access

Indiana University in Bloomington has announced a $5 million grant from the Lilly Endowment to support the Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Museum of Art and strengthen public engagement with art. The grant will fund audience research, visitor experience improvements, and expanded storytelling and outreach initiatives to deepen relationships with communities across Indiana. Planned enhancements include upgraded spaces, new technology, improved accessibility, and expanded programming capabilities. The investment is part of Lilly’s effort to help Indiana art museums strengthen their community impact and create more meaningful, lasting connections with audiences.
