Northwestern Medicine receives $35M for Chicgoland community health equity initiatives

Northwestern Medicine in Chicago, Illinois, has announced a $35 million award from Schreiber Philanthropy to launch the John and Kathy Schreiber Community Health Institute to back the expansion of healthcare access and workforce development across the Chicagoland region. The institute will focus on reducing health disparities, addressing social health needs, and strengthening community-based care. The funding will bolster care for underinsured patients, navigation services, partnerships with community providers, and training for federally qualified health centers and free clinics.
