Google commits $17M for water stewardship in communities where tech giant operates data centers

Google has announced a $17 million commitment to support water stewardship projects in collaboration with partners including Ducks Unlimited, the Huron River Watershed Council (Michigan), Trust for Public Land (Minnesota), the Metropolitan Utilities District (Nebraska), and the Texas Water Impact Fund. The funding will support wetland restoration, water-quality improvements, flood mitigation, agricultural conservation, leak detection, and community water infrastructure improvements. The commitment is part of Google’s goal to replenish more water than it consumes by 2030 and follows more than $500 million in commitments to water, wastewater, and water-reuse infrastructure serving communities where the tech giant operates data centers.
