Cleveland Browns owners fund $12.5M leukemia research push at UH and Oxford-Harrington

Dee and Jimmy Haslam, owners of the Cleveland Browns, have announced a combined $12.5 million gift to University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center and the Oxford-Harrington Rare Disease Centre in Cleveland, Ohio, to accelerate research and drug development for chronic lymphocytic leukemia and other rare blood cancers. The commitment includes $10 million for Oxford-Harrington’s global drug development pipeline and $2.5 million for UH Seidman Cancer Center, establishing an endowed CLL research chair and innovation fund. The initiative aims to move experimental therapies into clinical trials and advance potential cures through international collaboration. Dee Haslam was diagnosed with CLL in 2021.
