Taylor University receives $10M from Bond family for new campus plaza and amphitheater

Taylor University in Upland, Indiana, has announced a $10 million grant from the Bond Family Foundation to support the creation of Bond-Servant Plaza and related campus enhancements. The gift will fund a central amphitheater and gathering space designed for worship, student life, and large-scale community events, including a 4,000-person lawn, stage, and illuminated cross symbolizing the university’s Christian identity. It also establishes an endowed concert series and contributes to a new Chapel and Welcome Center, with construction planned for completion by Fall 2027. Additional campus improvements include relocating athletic facilities and redesigning pedestrian corridors to integrate the new spiritual and communal hub into daily student life.
