The Andrew Young Foundation, established by the former Atlanta mayor, diplomat and civil rights leader Andrew Young, is advancing plans for a $100M peace and reconciliation center in Atlanta’s Vine City historically African-American neighborhood. The proposed 80,000-square-foot Andrew Young International Institute for Peace and Reconciliation would include galleries, classrooms, a theater, research library, and archival space for Young’s global papers and awards. If fully financed, construction could begin in 2028 with completion expected by 2029.
