The African Development Fund, the concessional financing arm of the African Development Bank Group, has approved a $4.23 million grant for the second phase of a project to integrate natural capital into development financing and policy-making across 13 African countries. Running from October 2026 through September 2029, the initiative will strengthen policy, statistical, institutional, and knowledge systems to help governments better assess and manage natural resources. Partners providing in-kind support include the World Wildlife Fund, Germany’s Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), the African Union Development Agency–NEPAD, the UN Economic Commission for Africa, and the UN Environment Programme, alongside contributions from partner countries.
