National Park Foundation awards $10M for scalable tech across 21 national parks

The National Park Foundation–the independent nonprofit created by an act of Congress in 1967–has announced grants totaling more than $10 million to partners supporting 21 national parks nationwide. The initiative will fund 18 innovation projects that test scalable technologies and new operational approaches to improve visitor experiences, resource management, connectivity, traffic monitoring, emergency communications, and data-driven decision-making. Backed by donor support, including funding by the Lilly Endowment, the awards empower park partners to pilot solutions that can be expanded across the National Park system, strengthening park operations while preserving natural, historic, and cultural resources for future generations.
