Carnegie Mellon University commits $3M to Pittsburgh education and Infrastructure programs

Carnegie Mellon University has announced a five-year, $3 million commitment to the City of Pittsburgh to support education and infrastructure initiatives that enhance opportunity, connectivity, and quality of life for communities citywide. The funding will strengthen the city’s Rec2Tech program, which provides youth with technology skills through recreation centers, while also supporting neighborhood infrastructure projects focused on green spaces and improved pedestrian, bicycle, and vehicle access. The investment expands a longstanding partnership between CMU and the city, building on the university’s efforts in K-12 education, workforce development, and innovation.
