Warren Buffett, Stephen Curry charity auction nets $18 million for Bay Area nonprofits

Warren Buffett will double the more than $9 million raised through a revived private lunch auction featuring the retired Berkshire Hathaway CEO and NBA star Stephen Curry. Matching the anonymous $9 million bid will direct equal amounts to the San Francisco-based GLIDE Foundation–addressing homelessness poverty, and substance abuse–and the Eat.Learn.Play. Foundation founded by Stephen and Ayesha Curry that focuses on child nutrition, education, and well-being. The collaboration revives Buffett’s long-running philanthropic auction series, which previously generated $53 million for GLIDE before ending in 2022.
