The Flint, Michigan-based Charles Stewart Mott Foundation has announced a commitment of up to $100 million to help Flint Community Schools build a new high school on the former Flint Central High School site, part of a broader effort to modernize education infrastructure and expand opportunities for local students. The commitment includes more than $6 million already awarded for design, demolition, and site preparation, and builds on $35.9 million in prior state funding. Demolition is expected later this year, with the new campus slated to open for the 2028–29 school year as a centerpiece of Flint’s public-school revitalization efforts.
