Scripps Foundation commits $2M to accessible Guadalupe riverfront redevelopment in Kerrville

The Adam Scripps Foundation has committed a $2 million mixed gift (a $1.5 million grant alongside $500,000 in development financing) to the Guadalupe River Center in Kerrville, Texas, supporting a public-private riverfront redevelopment project along Nimitz Lake that will be completed in 2027. The funding advances construction of the Scripps Riverfront Center, the first major building in a multi-phase campus designed for river access, education, conservation, and recreation. The initiative aims to expand ADA-accessible boating, outdoor learning, and watershed stewardship programs while strengthening community resilience and wellness.
