MetLife Foundation awards $6.5M to address food insecurity, mental health, and community needs

MetLife Foundation has deployed more than $6.5 million through its Community Impact Grant Program to over 100 nonprofit organizations globally, including Cedar Hill Shares Food Pantry in Dallas, Texas. Structured as competitive grants, the funding targets food security, mental health, environmental sustainability, and community resilience. Launched in 2023 and expanded globally in 2025, the program supports initiatives ranging from nutrition and financial literacy to workforce reentry and youth development. To date, it has awarded over $9 million to 207 nonprofits, reaching 1.6 million people, signaling a scaled, employee-informed approach to strengthening economic mobility and community stability worldwide.
