The Northern Virginia Science Center in Sterling, Virginia, has received a $1 million award from the May Family Foundation to establish the May Innovation Center as its Title Partner. Structured as a philanthropic contribution, the funding will create flexible STEM learning spaces for hands-on programs, school field trips, workforce initiatives, and community engagement. The center will host the Youth Development Initiative, offering mentorship, project-based learning, and leadership opportunities for high school and college students. Opening in mid-2027, the initiative aims to inspire curiosity, strengthen the regional STEM ecosystem, and expand access to under-resourced youth.
