World Bank invests $38M to bolster smallholder farming across Africa, Asia, and the Americas

Global Agriculture and Food Security Program announced $38 million in grants to support smallholder farmers across 27 low-income countries in Africa, Asia, and the Americas. Hosted by the World Bank, the program will fund 16 farmer-led projects aimed at boosting incomes, improving food security, and building resilience to climate and economic shocks. The initiative prioritizes strengthening producer organizations and expanding opportunities for women farmers. Expected to benefit about 175,000 farmers, the funding focuses on scaling proven agricultural innovations, improving market access, and empowering local cooperatives to better compete and sustain livelihoods.
