Pfizer, Direct Relief award $4.5M to expand infectious disease care across 11 states

The Pfizer Foundation and Direct Relief have announced $4.5 million in grants to 16 U.S. community health organizations across 11 states to strengthen infectious disease prevention, screening, testing, treatment and care in medically underserved communities. The two-year grants mark the third cohort of the Innovation Awards in Community Health and extend a partnership launched in 2020. Since then, the program has supported more than 40 organizations that reached over 1.3 million people and delivered nearly 520,000 vaccinations. New projects target HIV, STIs, hepatitis, tuberculosis, respiratory illness and vaccine-preventable diseases.
